Double Rear Dormer Loft Conversion
A double rear dormer loft conversion in Sale that added a generous bedroom with maximum head height and floor space — including a newly built staircase and full plastering throughout.

A property in Sale where the owners wanted to make the most of the loft space and add a proper, generous bedroom. We designed a double rear dormer conversion — the dormer approach maximises both head height and usable floor area across the loft, which is exactly what you want when the goal is a full-sized room rather than a cramped attic space. The conversion began with the supporting steelwork and new floor structure, then forming the double rear dormer and weathering it in, before moving through the build. A new staircase was built to give proper access up to the loft, designed to fit the home and meet Building Control requirements, and the room was insulated, first and second fixed for electrics and plumbing, then plastered throughout and fully fitted out. The plastering and finish were taken care of to the same standard as the rest of the work, so the room was handed over ready to decorate and move into rather than left as a shell. The project was managed through to Building Control sign-off, and the result is a bright, spacious dormer bedroom that adds real living space and value to the home — a strong example of how a double rear dormer can transform a previously unused loft.
